The Sports Forum for the Disabled continues its RYA affiliation

Did you know that we are affiliated to the RYA? I’m sure that whilst some individuals would say, that’s great, there will be a large number that might even say, so what does that even mean?

For some time now, the Sports Forum for the Disabled that operates “Knoticat” our wonderful Catamaran, has been affiliated to the RYA and this is great news for all that sail on her.

How so, I hear you ask? Well, by being an affiliate, we have access to the RYA’s wide knowledge and expertise. We have access to their training standards, syllabus and development opportunities that enable us to deliver safe and successful boating trips for all that sail on Knoticat.

Not only that, but we have access to robust governance policies and procedures that we use with our volunteers, whom without them, we would not be able to offer any trips on board.

So, if you are reading this and looking for opportunities to help others, then get in touch, we are always looking for new volunteers. From those wanting to commit to a regular weekly/monthly contribution, to those that just want to assist “as and when”, we are delighted to show volunteers round “Knoticat” which is moored in Poole and share with them a typical summer schedule.
